About the Montana Tech Foundation

Since 1967, the Montana Tech Foundation has worked tirelessly to support and advance Montana Tech. We are proud of our efforts to grow Montana Tech into one of the country’s premier universities.

We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of the educational programs of Montana Tech by managing funds on behalf of our donors and encouraging philanthropy among its constituents. We collaborate with alumni, students, faculty, staff, and administration to steward donations to Montana Tech and teach the benefits and importance of continuing your financial support of the university.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Montana Tech Foundation is to advance the teaching, research and public service endeavors of Montana Tech by generating private contributions to supplement the institution's state and federal revenues for capital, operating and student assistance funds. The Foundation is the catalyst and channel through which gifts and donation income flow to provide instantaneous and long-term support for Montana Tech and all of its programs.

Gift Fees

The Montana Tech Foundation imposes a fee on gifts and our endowment. Currently the Foundation assessed a 5% fee on all gifts. These funds are used to conduct outreach and fund further development efforts to advance Montana Technological University as well as operate the Montana Tech Foundation. The fee structure is established by the Montana Tech Foundation Board of Directors and is periodically reviewed.

Endowment Administrative Fee

A 2% per annum Administrative Fee is charged on the Montana Tech Foundation endowment funds. The fee is assessed and charged quarterly and is based on the moving average of the past twelve quarter-end balances of each endowed fund.
